From Client to Therapist
My journey at Therapy Central of Round Rock started twelve years ago, and I was in so much pain I could only sleep two or three hours before waking up. My muscles in my upper back were so tight they had pulled a few ribs out of place, with constant pain and it was more intense when I took a breath. Both shoulders hurt and I couldn’t sit for more than an hour at a time due to the pain I was experiencing. To mange the pain I took anywhere from 1,200mg to 2,400mg of Motrin daily and probably took more on worse days. I was also taking muscle relaxers, and pain killers when the pain was just too much to bare. The pain never really stopped.
I was ready for change when my wife told me about a guy who helped people get out of pain through massage. I had done body work for more than 20 years and had already tried several types of Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Chiropractic. When I first heard of Ken, I didn’t believe he could help me, but I was willing to take a chance.
After the first session, I was so surprised that I felt better. I thought I would try some of his suggestions like sleeping on my back, not eating wheat, hydrating by drinking more water though-out the day. I rescheduled to have more work done as needed, and did my part by stretching, doing corrective exercises, eating better, and sleeping on my back as much as possible. My health continued to improve, and I no longer wake up from pain. I can sit for a few hours if I choose to, and I am off all the pain pills, and muscle relaxers. I do take an occasional Tylenol if I have a headache, but what a huge change in health care.
I have experienced a huge level of change and improvement in quality of life through all the treatments over the past 12 years. One day during a session Ken was telling me how he wanted to share his technique with others to help more people and have his work live on. I thought about what Ken said on the way home from the session, and what a great idea that it was, so I decided I wanted to be a part of his team to help others find their way to a more pain free lifestyle.
See you on the table!
